Damage caused by a fire has forced Connells in Hitchin to move to a temporary office.

A blaze broke out at the Connells branch in High Street last month, spreading through the basement and the ground floor.

Staff have been moved to a temporary office to enable them to work as normal, with hopes they will be able to return to the high-street branch in the near future.

A Connells spokesperson told the press: “Connells Hitchin had an out of hours fire mid-October, which caused damage to the basement and ground floor of the building.

“All our customers are being regularly updated, and our branch staff are operating business as usual from a temporary office in Hitchin whilst we are in the process of reinstating the premises.”
