From start-up to scale-up – estate agency completes first acquisition 18 months after launch – London Wallet

McHattons in the seaside town of Porthcawl in South Wales has opened its third branch – 18 months after the business was lunched by Terence McHatton, a former director at Peter Alan, part of the Connells Group.

Having spent a decade of his career as a director at Peter Alan, McHatton decided the time was right to set-up his own estate agency in September 2023 and he has not looked back since.

This latest opening follows the successful acquisition of long-established Bridgend firm Reed Evans & Co, which had proudly served the local community for 55 years. The purchase represents a significant step in McHattons’ strategic expansion, solidifying its presence in the region and reaffirming its commitment to high street estate agency.

“We’ve been fortunate to build momentum quickly,” said McHatton. “To have three branches within 18 months is a testament to our team’s dedication, our values, and the support we’ve had from the communities we serve.”
