Goodlord has acquired the proptech platform Halo, the latest move in a string of acquisitions as the company continues to grow.

Halo, launched in 2020, provides tenants with a simple and fully digitised move-in experience. This includes an app for tenants to track their move-in progress and an onboarding operating system for letting agents. Since launch, it has been used by thousands of renters across the UK.

The acquisition, which is for an undisclosed sum, will see Goodlord incorporate the Halo tech into their existing offering.

This is the third acquisition led by the Goodlord Group since 2020. In July 2020, Goodlord acquired referencing software vendor Vouch in a move which created a new market leader in lettings software. In October 2021, it acquired the fintech app acasa, incorporating acasa’s household bill-splitting technology into the Goodlord platform.

Goodlord raised a £27m funding round in March 2022 to fuel its expansion plans, with strategic acquisitions forming a core part of the company’s ambition to build a market-leading, end-to-end solution for the rental market. Over 1 million tenants, landlords, and letting agents already use Goodlord’s system each year to process and manage tenancies.

Tom Mundy, chief operating officer and co-founder of Goodlord, said: “We know how complex the tenant move-in process is and Halo has done a great job in developing technology for this space. We’re looking forward to bringing their technology under our roof and further strengthening our offering for tenants and agents.

“This acquisition is another crucial step on our journey towards creating the nation’s best and most effective end-to-end RentTech solution. There are over 10 million rental households in the UK; we’re on track to power every transaction involved in renting a home.”

Kipras Gajauskas, founder of Halo, added: “Over the past two years we have turned Halo into an innovative product that’s focused on delivering a great user experience. We’re really pleased that Goodlord has recognised our top-of-the line technology and we look forward to the journey ahead.”
