Heybike, one of several fast-growing electric bike makers in the US and European markets, unveiled its new Galaxy Series last week. The new e-bike series isn’t just a single model, but rather a fleet of five new e-bikes comprising the Galaxy line.

The various designs seem to cover riders looking for an e-bike designed for commuting, exploring, hauling gear, or just hitting mountain trails.

The Galaxy line consists of five distinct e-bikes: the Galaxy T for long-distance touring, Galaxy C for urban commuting, Galaxy K for compact city rides, Galaxy M for mountain trails, and Galaxy X for cargo-hauling and serious adventuring. Each one is purpose-built, but all share the same core platform: Heybike’s self-developed Galaxy eDrive System. That means integrated LCD displays, torque-heavy mid-drive motors, and 500 Wh removable batteries neatly tucked into the frames.

For riders who want serious muscle, the Galaxy T, M, and X are packing the Venus Plus mid-drive motor with up to 100 Nm of torque, paired with Shimano 9-speed drivetrains. The Galaxy C uses a 7-speed Shimano Nexus internal gear hub and still puts out 80 Nm from its Venus motor – plenty for zipping through city traffic. Even the sleek, city-focused Galaxy K gets the 9-speed treatment and 80 Nm motor, offering compact performance without compromising on grunt.

And it’s not just about what’s under the hood (or the downtube, in this case). These bikes are packed with better components than we’re used to seeing from most Asian-import brands in the west. In addition to components like internally-geared rear hubs, the spec sheets boast Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, Schwalbe tires, SR Suntour front suspension forks (on the T and M), and VELO handlebars. The Galaxy X, in particular, looks to be designed for serious cargo hauling, boasting a 150 kg (330 lb) carrying capacity and a fully integrated rear rack with the MIK Click Go system for snapping on baskets, panniers, or even a kid seat.

Design-wise, the Galaxy series doesn’t look like your typical budget-friendly fare. The bikes feature sleek lines, integrated rear turn signals, and a unique hexagonal frame design that adds both stiffness and visual flair. The Galaxy T and K models were even recognized with the 2025 German Design Award and a Red Dot Award for Product Design.

Heybike also leaned into sustainability with this launch, not just in the e-bikes themselves, but in the packaging. Each bike comes in eco-friendly, recyclable boxes that double as DIY crafting kits. That’s right, the boxes are printed with cutout patterns that let you build animals or decorations from the packaging itself. It’s a quirky and fun touch, showing Heybike’s eye for detail and effort to make e-bike ownership more fun for the whole family – and a little greener.

Designed for the European market, the various models carry price ranges between €2,099 and €2,399.

With over 200,000 riders globally in just four years, Heybike seems to be growing into a serious name in the e-bike world. The Galaxy Series looks like a major step up in design, performance, and overall ambition. Whether it’s a sleek city commuter, a rugged trail machine, or a cargo-hauling powerhouse, the Galaxy lineup seems ready to usher Heybike a step or two higher on the e-bike brand hierarchy ladder.
