On the back of her 2022 album Midnights, the singer will also play shows in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, and Dublin as she visits stadiums around Europe.

Swift announced the tour on Twitter on Tuesday. It will be her first series of concerts since 2018 with Covid-19 stopping touring but not cancelling her plans to release new music.

Tickets are not yet on sale but fans were so quick off the mark on Tuesday that registration for presale even saw users needing to wait in a queue on Ticketmaster.

Here is what you need to know to give yourself the best chance of getting tickets.

When and where are Taylor Swift’s The Eras concerts?

The announcement on Tuesday was for all ‘international’ dates on the US singer’s agenda and will span from Mexico this August, to Asia next spring, before finishing in London.

Swift will play Wembley on June 21 and 22 next year and again on August 16 and 17, with gigs in Liverpool, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and throughout Europe in between.

The gap in the dates will fuel speculation that she is being lined up to headline next year’s Glastonbury Festival.

She was originally confirmed to headline the Festival back in 2020 — before it was forced to cancel for two consecutive years due to the Covid pandemic.

For all the European dates, she will be supported by Sabrina Carpenter.

Swift started the US dates of her tour in March. Forbes magazine estimated it would pull in $1.9 billion (£1.5 billion) in ticket sales and merchandise.

How can I register for Taylor Swift tickets?

Registration is now open and will close on Thursday at 11.59pm (perhaps a midnight closing time would have been too on-brand).

Ticketmaster has sternly pointed out that registration does not guarantee access to the sale, or to tickets, as they expect there will be more demand than there are tickets available.

“A limited number of fans will get access to the sale, and others will be put on the waitlist,” the website says.

“Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you aren’t initially selected, you’ll be placed on the waitlist and may receive an invitation if any further tickets become available.”

Once you have registered, you will be authenticated. Then, on July 5, you will receive an email from AEG Presents if you are one of the lucky ones and will be sent a purchase link and access code via email a day prior to the on-sale.

If you are not selected, you will join a waiting list.

Ticketmaster says tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis while currently available inventory lasts.

The ticket sales will be on July 18, 19, or 20.
