Hyundai’s electric MPV is bigger than the Volkswagen ID.Buzz and Kia Carnival. The Staria EV is Hyundai’s largest EV to date, and it looks even bigger in real life.

The Staria EV is Hyundai’s first electric MPV

Earlier this month, Hyundai unveiled the Staria EV for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show. It’s essentially an all-electric version of the gas-powered model sold in Europe, South Korea, and other markets.

The Staria EV measures 5,255 mm (207″) in length, 1,995 mm (78″) in width, and 1,990 mm (78″) in height, with a wheelbase of 3,275 mm (129″). That’s roughly 200 mm (9″) longer than the IONIQ 9, Hyundai’s three-row electric SUV.

Although it shares a similar design to the ICE model, the Staria EV features a closed-off grille and new lighting signatures to differentiate it.

Hyundai’s electric MPV will be available with 7-seater Luxury or 9-seater Wagon configurations. With up to 1,303 liters of luggage capacity behind the third row, the Staria EV offers about the same amount of cargo space as the Kia PV5 Passenger model.

While Hyundai just revealed it less than a month ago, we are already getting our first look at the Staria EV in action.

A new video from HealerTV gives a pretty clear look at the Staria EV from just about every angle, driving on public streets in South Korea.

There are a few slight differences from the model shown earlier this month, including a slimmer front-end design and new wheels. However, this could also be a higher trim option.

The flat-floor design creates a lounge-like interior with flexible seating arrangements for families, businesses, and weekend getaways.

Based on a new “Inside-Out” design theme, the cabin features Hyundai’s latest connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) infotainment system. The system features dual 12.3″ driver and central touchscreen displays with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Staria EV features two sliding doors and a lift-up tailgate to make it easier to enter and exit the vehicle or load items.

Powered by an 84 kW battery and 160 kW front-mounted electric motor, the Staria EV has a WTLP range of up to 400 km (249 miles). It can also recharge from 10% to 80% in as little as 20 minutes thanks to its 800V electrical system.

The electric MPV offers additional features, including vehicle-to-load (V2L), which can power tools, laptops, lights, and other devices on the go.

Hyundai is set to launch the Staria EV in Korea and Europe in the first half of 2026. For other markets, Hyundai said details will be released closer to each market’s introduction.

Will it launch in the US? Hyundai has yet to say, but since the ICE model isn’t sold in the US, it looks like a long shot.

The IONIQ 9 is Hyundai’s largest EV currently sold in the US, with an overall length of 5,060 mm (199″). Hyundai also sells the smaller IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and Kona EVs.

Interested in trying one out for yourself? Hyundai is currently offering monthly leases starting at just $189. You can use the links below to find Hyundai’s electric vehicles in your area.
