The Israeli air strikes took place after an Iranian cargo plane from Qeshm Fars Company (Qeshm) arrived at the Russian airbase.

The Iranian cargo plane had arrived on Tuesday allegedly carrying “humanitarian aid” for Lebanese citizens in Syria which raised suspicions in Israel the cargo plane was carrying weapons.

Russia Today reporter wrote, “An Iranian Boeing-747 with the code QFZ9951, operated by Fars Air Qeshm, landed stealthily at Latakia Airport, with its navigation systems off, the previous morning. It departed eight hours before the attack.”

The Syrian Foreign Ministry said, “For the second time in two days, the Zionist entity committed another crime, targeting a residential building in a densely populated area in Damascus, killing three civilians, injuring many others, and causing significant damage.”

Syrian news outlet, @syr_television, wrote on X, “Syrian TV sources: The Israeli bombing began at 3:55 and ended at 4:41, with thirty missiles from naval battleships.”

They added, “Sources to Syria TV: Israel bombed the Hmeimim base an hour after the arrival of an Iranian plane belonging to the Qashim Fars company.”
