Israeli strike hits Gaza’s largest hospital with ‘intense violence’ on the ground

An Israeli military statement on Sunday ,said soldiers “opened and secured a passage which enables the civilian population to evacuate, on foot and by ambulances, from the Shifa, Rantisi and Nasser hospitals.”

The World Health Organization said that they have now lost all communications with their contacts at the hospital.

The WHO have said they have “grave concerns” for the safety of all those who are trapped in the Al Shifa hospital in northern Gaza as there is intense fighting.

On Saturday Gaza’s largest hospital ran out of fuel and all services were then suspended, a spokesperson said.

WHO said it has “grave concerns for the safety of the health workers, hundreds of sick and injured patients, including babies on life support and displaced people who remain inside the hospital,” then called for an immediate ceasefire.
