On Wednesday the Israeli military said their forces have carried out more than 11,000 attacks on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in just over three weeks and the Israel Defence Force (IDF) said they have lost 11 soldiers.

“Since the beginning of the war, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) has struck over 11,000 targets belonging to terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip,” a statement from the military said.

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that it “will be a long war” however, they will be victorious, he added that military losses are mounting.

“We are in a tough war. It will be a long war,” he said.

“I promise to all citizens of Israel: We will get the job done. We will press ahead until victory.”

He said that the Israeli military has suffered “painful losses” and that “The entire nation of Israel embraces you, the families, from the bottom of our hearts.

Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner, a spokesman for the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) told Sky News, “We are conducting our strikes against Hamas.

“This is the reason, for three weeks now, that we have been asking the people of the north to go south.

“We know that Biari was hiding specifically in Jabaliya, we know that they had intentionally positioned all of their capabilities.

The civilian casualties of this war are truly tragic and we see this terrorist organisation has no regard for human life.
