Jordan’s King Abdullah has said the root cause of the crisis is Israel denying the Palestinians “legitimate rights” and he will not allow the Israelis to occupy any part of the Gaza Strip.
Jordanian state media reported that the King told senior politicians there can be no “military or security solution” to the conflict.
King Abdullah told the politicians the “root of the crisis was Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories and its denial of Palestinians legitimate rights.”
“The solution starts from there and any other path is doomed to failure and more of a cycle of violence and destruction,” he added.
He warned that violations in the West Bank between Jewish settlers attacking and killing Palestinian civilians’ risks expanding the region being pushed “to the abyss.”
