JPMorgan’s top stock picks as April kicks off

JPMorgan refreshed its list of favorite stocks as the market kicks off a new month and quarter. New names added to the bank’s analyst focus list, which is updated monthly, are Boeing , Energy Transfer , Freeport-McMoRan , Carpenter Technology and Broadstone Net Lease . The Wall Street firm removed Abercrombie & Fitch and defense stock RTX from the group. The changes come after a tumultuous March and first quarter for investors, which struggled to navigate rising trade tensions and persistent inflation. The S & P 500 shed more than 4% in the first quarter, marking its biggest quarterly slide since 2022. In March, the benchmark shed 5.8%. According to analyst Seth Seifman has an overweight rating on Boeing, noting: “Boeing has seen several positive data points recently with production and delivery momentum coming in ahead of expectations, positive commentary from suppliers and customers, and winning the F-47 contract driving future growth.” Boeing shares are down more than 4% in 2025. BA YTD mountain Boeing in 2025 Mining company Freeport-McMoRan, another new addition to JPMorgan’s list, was highlighted as a promising value play by analyst William Peterson. The company stands to benefit from tariff-driven premium-pricing for U.S. assets, he noted. The stock is down flat year to date in 2025. Still, most analysts are bullish on the stock, with 15 of 23 who cover it rating it a buy, according to LSEG. The average price target also signals more than 27% upside. Two income-driven strategy names among the recent additions are Broadstone and Energy Transfer. Broadstone yields 6.9% and is seeing earnings growth pick up again, per analyst Anthony Paolone. Shares are outperforming the S & P 500 this year, gaining 7.7%.
