The Kia GT moniker is getting electrified. Kia unveiled three (well, four really) new electric GT models at the Brussels Motor Show, including two sporty new SUVs and an EV hot hatch. Here’s our first look.

Kia goes all in on electric GT models

Kia’s new electric GT models are “crafted for those who seek the best of both worlds: excitement while embracing a future of responsible mobility,” the company said at the Brussels Motor Show on Friday.

After unveiling its new entry-level electric car, the EV2, at the event, Kia gave us a look at a few of its upcoming electric GT models.

The EV3 GT, EV4 GT, and EV5 GT follow the larger EV9 GT and EV6 GT in Kia’s growing performance electric vehicle series.

With the new models arriving this year, Kia will offer an electric GT vehicle in nearly every segment, including a compact SUV (EV3 GT), fastback (EV4 GT), hatchback (EV4 GT), midsize SUV (EV5 GT), crossover (EV6 GT), and three-row SUV (EV9 GT).

The EV3 GT brings a sporty new look and performance upgrades to Kia’s popular compact electric SUV. Kia fine-tuned the electronically controlled chassis, added 20-inch alloy wheels and performance tires, and gave it GT-specific design elements for a fun-to-drive experience at an affordable price.

EV3 GT and EV4 GT

Like Kia’s other electric GT models, the smaller EV3 GT is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain.

The setup includes a 145 kW (194 hp) front motor and a 70 kW (94 hp) rear-mounted electric motor, for a combined 215 kW (288 hp).

Drawing power from an 81.4 kWh battery, the EV3 GT can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 5.7 seconds. Although Kia didn’t reveal the range, the AWD EV3 GT-Line has a WLTP range of up to 590 km (367 miles), so it’s expected to be around the same or slightly less.

The EV4 GT, which will be available as both a fastback and a hatch, features the same dual-motor AWD system as the EV3 GT, delivering a combined 215 kW (288 hp).

Both models include a dedicated GT drive mode “to deliver a more focused and immersive driving” experience, as well as added features like a Virtual Gear Shift and an active sound system that replicates the sounds and jerk feeling of a sports car.

Inside, the EV3 GT includes bucket seats inspired by the larger EV9, while the EV4 GT gets distinct semi-bucket sports seats, plus a three-spoke steering wheel, and a GT-specific interface.

Thanks to its aerodynamic design, the EV4 GT is slightly faster than the compact SUV, with a 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) sprint time of 5.6 seconds.

EV5 GT

Last, but certainly not least, is the EV5 GT. The midsize electric SUV blends performance with the versatility of larger SUVs.

The EV5 GT still features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain but delivers a bit more power, with a combined 225 kW (302 hp).

Kia said the EV5 GT is a “performance-focused electric SUV suitable for everyday commuting,” featuring GT-specific interior and exterior design elements, semi-bucket sports seats, and ambient lighting.

At 4,610 mm long, 1,875 mm wide, and 1,675 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,750mm, the EV5 is slightly bigger than the Kia Sportage.

It’s also equipped with GT-exclusive drive modes, an electronically controlled suspension, e-torque vectoring, Virtual Gear Shift, active sound system, and a host of other fun extras.

EV prices fall again – and the gap with gas cars shrinks to $6,500

Kia is set to begin production of the EV3 GT, EV4 GT, and EV5 GT in Q2 2026. The company will reveal prices and additional specs closer to launch.

Given the EV5 GT-Line S starts at £47,095 ($63,700) in the UK, the flagship GT version will be slightly more expensive. The GT-Line and GT-Line S variants have a WLTP range of 313 miles, while the base Air trim delivers up to 329 miles.

Electrek’s Take

Will we see any of them launch in the US? The US likely won’t see the EV4 GT since the standard version is still delayed until further notice.

What about the EV5 GT? Not likely. The EV5 is sold exclusively in Canada in the North American market, not in the US.

The EV3 GT is about the only one that might have a chance. Kia America’s marketing boss, Russel Wager, told  Car and Driver at the LA Auto Show in November that bringing the compact electric SUV to the US was still part of the plan. Until Kia makes it official, however, it’s all just speculation. We hope to see at least one electric GT model, but given the recent policy changes, it’s unlikely.
