On Monday the Foreign Secretary David Lammy suspended some arms exports to Israel and Labour has been accused of have “lied.”

Lammy claimed that after a review there is a “clear risk” Israel will use British made artillery that could breach international laws.

The Israeli Prime Minister said the British government’s decisions is “shameful” and a member the Knesset [Parliament] Sharren Haskel accused Sir Keir Starmer and Lammy for turning their backs on Israel in their war against the terrorist group Hamas.

Haskel told GB News, “To be honest, it feels like the Labour Party has betrayed us, they betrayed Israel. We are fighting a global war of radical Islam. Who would come to the rescue of the Israeli people?

“We are here by ourselves, we have to defend ourselves. We have to defend our children – our daughters were brutally raped, burnt, murdered, executed. Who’s going to be here? Who’s going to defend our children?”

Hitting out at the decision by Labour, Haskel said, “We have to be able to defend our community, and when the Labour Party start putting those restrictions to cancel those arms license, they really betrayed us.

“They lied during the elections, they lied to us about what they’re going to do, and it really feels like a betrayal.”

GB News host Isabel Webster said that she recalls that Starmer previously stated Israel do have the right to “defend” themselves.

Webster said to Haskel, “Starmer was in many ways echoing the International Criminal Court, who said that the right to defend your population does not absolve Israel of its obligation to comply with international humanitarian law.

“Is it not the role of an ally to say, we’re your friend, we stand with you shoulder to shoulder, but we actually think you’re doing something wrong here, potentially?”

Haskel disagreed, hitting back: “The international community is completely biased. They keep on condemning Israel, the only liberal democracy who gave equal rights to women, to minorities.

“And those are the values that the British people believe in. Those are the values that the British people and the Israeli people have such a strong bond and responsibility about around the world.”

Haskel added, “Even though the Labour government have betrayed Israel because we cannot defend our people without the capabilities, we will find a way to even produce our own, like we’ve done many times before where different allies turned their back on us.

“But with that hurt, I have to say that the bonds between the British people and the Israeli people is far stronger than any current or single government.

“It transcends far beyond that, because our alliance and our commitment is to the values of liberty and of democracy.”
