Liverpool are back in Premier League action tonight with a trip up to Elland Road to meet Leeds United. Jurgen Klopp’s side surely have to win every game from now until the end of the season to even harbour a distant hope of making the top four and little about their form would suggest that is likely.
Still, they managed to come from behind to take something off Arsenal last time out, showing at least some signs of the performances from last season. Away form, however, has been a huge concern all year and even a trip to a team battling against relegation hardly looks particularly straightforward.
Leeds are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table and took a pasting from Crystal Palace last time out. But the performances Liverpool have put in on the road, coupled with the Elland Road factor, should give them confidence. Follow all the action with Standard Sport’s dedicated match blog!

Jurgen Klopp’s programme notes
“It will be a tough one but we have to build again on two games that were good, in moments really good, and especially the second half against Arsenal was obviously really good and we have to build on that. That’s what we’ll try.”

Glen Johnson backs Jurgen Klopp to succeed at Liverpool
“Jurgen Klopp is still the right man for this Liverpool rebuild – despite their poor season
“I definitely think he is still the man to do it, for sure. He hasn’t lost his ability to coach or motivate players. When Liverpool were at their best, their pressing was ridiculous and God knows what their running numbers were.
“It’s so hard to maintain that level with the same group of players that he has had there. They almost need to rebuild and get some new players in who buy into his philosophy in the same way most of this group of players did from day one.
“They’re almost back in the same position they were when he signed; it’s like he is back in the position again and he has to rebuild and get the club back to loftier heights. He has to rebuild that team, motivate them again and that might be with a lot more faces.
“This team can’t be struggling in the current position they are in, they are way better than that. And he is still the same coach that achieved so much with this team, maybe even over-achieving.”
Glen Johnson was speaking to DAZN Bet.

Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp admits he does not always agree with FSG after Jude Bellingham decision
Jurgen Klopp has dismissed any suggestion he is frustrated about Liverpool’s transfer business after the club pulled out of a move for Jude Bellingham.
This week’s news that Liverpool have accepted they are not in a financial position to battle the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City for the 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund star dominated Klopp’s sometimes tetchy press conference on Friday.

Prediction: Liverpool to win 2-1
Since the 7-0 win over Manchester United, and talk of Liverpool being ‘back’, Klopp’s side are winless in five matches. They have won just two of their 11 matches away from home in all competitions since the turn of the year.
However, while Leeds have shown some signs of improvement in recent weeks, they are conceding far too many goals and Liverpool could benefit should this turn into an end-to-end encounter.
Liverpool to win, 2-1.
Liverpool team news: Luis Diaz is back in the squad
Klopp has confirmed that Luis Diaz will be in the squad assuming he suffers no further setbacks, in what would be a huge boost for Liverpool. The winger has not played since October.
Thiago made his return off the bench against Arsenal and is in contention to start at Elland Road, while Alisson and Ibrahima Konate are expected to be available despite both missing two days of training this week. Naby Keita and Stefan Bajcetic remain out.
