Arne Slot has called on Liverpool to treat the game as “the first of three finals in the next week”, before Tuesday’s Champions League second leg against Paris Saint-Germain and then the Carabao Cup Final against Newcastle next Sunday. Slot has made three changes to his team against bottom club Southampton but has warned his players against complacency as they bid to continue their march towards the title.
