Lucid (LCID) is launching the cheaper Gravity Touring later this year, but the EV maker has even more affordable EVs coming soon.

Lucid is launching the more affordable Gravity Touring

After opening orders for the Gravity SUV last November, Lucid said a less expensive Touring trim was planned for late 2025.

According to the latest update, Lucid is still on track to launch the lower-priced electric SUV later this year.

Lucid told Automotive News in an email this week that Gravity Touring is “still planned for launch later this year.” The update comes despite a slower production ramp-up than expected.

On the company’s second-quarter earnings call, interim CEO Marc Winterhoff said that after overcoming supply chain issues, including an industry-wide magnet shortage, Lucid expected a significant ramp-up in output in the second half of the year.

In an interview with CNBC shortly after, Winterhoff explained that the company now has the raw materials, earth magnets, and licensing needed for the remainder of 2025.

Although Winterhoff confirmed the ramp-up had been slower than Lucid had hoped for, the company expects the Gravity to account for the majority of production and deliveries in the second half of the year.

The Lucid Gravity Grand Touring, priced from $94,900, is currently the only trim available in the US. Later this year, Lucid will launch the more Touring model, starting at $81,550, including shipping.

Lucid also opened orders for the Gravity Grand Touring in Europe this week, with deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2026. The electric SUV starts at 116,900 euros ($137,000) in Germany, including VAT. The Lucid Gravity Touring will be available soon, with prices starting at 99,900 euros ($117,000) in Germany.

Although it will start with the Gravity Touring later this year, Lucid has several more lower-priced vehicles in the works.

Lucid told Electrek last year that the company planned to launch three midsize EVs on its new platform, starting with a new crossover SUV. Former CEO Peter Rawlinson said Lucid’s midsize vehicles would begin at around $50,000. “right in the heart of Tesla Model 3, Model Y territory.”

Earlier this week at the Munich Motor Show, Winterhoff said that another midsize model would share design cues with the Gravity X concept, unveiled last month.

Winterhoff also confirmed at the event that Lucid has enough funding “to get us into the second half of next year,” when it plans to begin production on the midsize platform.
