Defaqto, one of the UK’s most trusted sources of financial product and market intelligence, has extended its partnership with price comparison site MoneySuperMarket. This means MoneySuperMarket will display Defaqto’s Star Ratings across its range of core insurance products.

MoneySuperMarket has displayed Defaqto Star Ratings for travel insurance products since 2016, appearing in more than 1 million searches per month. Star Ratings will now be included in all motor, home, van, and pet insurance quote results, making MoneySuperMarket the only UK price comparison website to use Defaqto Star Ratings consistently across core insurance products.

Sara Newell, Commercial Director – Insurance at MoneySuperMarket, said: “Our purpose is to help households save money by making it as easy as possible to compare and find the best financial products for your needs. This aligns with Defaqto’s aim of helping people to make smarter financial decisions.

“Including Defaqto Star Ratings as part of our comparison results across our extensive range of insurance brands and products will give our customers the added reassurance of an independent quality benchmark, helping them to compare insurance products quickly and easily to find the best policy and price for their needs.

“In travel, Defaqto Star Ratings have worked very well, particularly when our insurance partners offer a range of products, for example ‘Bronze’, ‘Silver’, Gold’, and ‘Platinum’. Including Star Ratings in search results, alongside price and key policy features, helps our customers to make confident financial decisions. Expanding Star Ratings into our other insurance products is a natural step.”

Glenn Porter, Chief Commercial Officer at Defaqto, said: “The extension of our relationship with MoneySuperMarket is testament to the consumer confidence we have built around Defaqto Star Ratings.

“Choosing the right insurance cover for our own individual needs isn’t something many of us relish, yet it’s incredibly important. Having accurate and impartial guidance at a glance makes a huge difference. MoneySuperMarket’s vast shop window of policies combined with our ratings data empowers every customer to make a smarter financial decision.”

Defaqto maintains the UK’s largest financial product database spanning 43,000 financial products and 4 million product features. It is a trusted source of insight for the broadest range of consumer financial products, from those we all need – such as insurance and bank accounts – to investment and protection products for people who choose them.

Defaqto’s research methodology informs independent ratings, reviews and insights, and every month millions of consumers trust Defaqto Star Ratings.
