Since Friday Ukrainian forces have killed more than 1,100 Russian troops and destroyed dozens of tanks and artillery systems including cruise missiles.

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Saturday morning that in 24 hours 640 Russian troops were killed in action, two air defence systems, 18 armoured vehicles, 18 artillery systems and 12 tanks were destroyed.

On Friday 470 Russian soldiers were killed and three tanks, 10 armored vehicles, 28 artillery systems, one air defense vehicle, 12 drones, three cruise missiles, 18 units of enemy vehicles were destroyed.

The Ukrainian General Staff said on Saturday in a message, “The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022 to August 26, 2023 approximately amount to: about 260,270 people of military personnel (plus 640) people, 4,390 tanks (plus 12) units, 8,539 armored combat vehicles (plus 18) units, 5,379 artillery systems (plus 18) units, 726 MLRS units (plus two), 497 units of air defense equipment (plus two) units, 315 aircraft, 316 helicopters, 4,367 operational-tactical level UAVs (plus 11), 1,411 cruise missiles (plus two), 18 ships/boats, 7,823 automotive equipment and tankers (plus 33) units, and 804 units of special equipment (plus two).”

Since the invasion started on 24 February, 2022 Ukrainian forces have liberated more than 40,000 square kilometers of Ukraine from Russian troops. Stratcom said.

Stratcom added, “Over 40,000 square kilometers of Ukraine have been liberated by the Defense Forces since February 24, 2022.

“This is more than the territory of Moldova. Slightly less than two Israel. And about 15 cities like Moscow.”

Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky has said that they are taking measures to strengthen their defense in the directions of Kupiansk and Lyman.

Srsky said, “After a month of tough fighting and significant losses in to Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy is regrouping its forces and assets, while simultaneously transferring newly formed brigades and divisions from the territory of Russia.”
