Moscow has been accused of “barbaric” war crimes for targeting a children’s hospital in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Monday morning.

Russia launched a “massive” large scale hypersonic missile attack across Ukraine and conducted two attacks on Kyiv.

The second wave of missile strikes on the capital killed a further seven civilians during their daytime attack, the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko said.

The State Emergency Service wrote on Telegram, “Repeated [bombing] of the capital. Previously, falling debris was recorded in the Dniprovsky district.”

The report added, “It is known about 4 dead and 3 injured. The information is being [confirmed],” the Kyiv Post reported.

The Mayor of Kyiv said, “Seven people died in the Dniprovsky district due to debris falling on a medical center, with additional casualties reported. The building of the medical facility sustained damage.”

The Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said “war crimes” has to be condemned by the “entire international community.”

“I am struck by the images of the bombings in Kyiv which also hit a children’s hospital. War crimes that must be condemned by the entire international community,” Tajani wrote on X.

“The Italian government will continue to defend the sovereignty of Ukraine and its people.”

President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chief of staff Andriy Yermak said, “They [Russia] beat the cities, where there were many people.

“They hit the children’s hospital. There are children. It is a terror that the world must see and respond to. This is genocide.”

President Zelensky has vowed that Ukraine will retaliate for Russia’s attack on the children’s hospital.

President Zelensky said during a visit in Warsaw, Poland, “I would also like to hear from our partners (about) a greater resilience and a strong response to the blow that Russia has once again dealt to our people, to our land, to our children.

“We will retaliate against these people, we will deliver a powerful response from our side to Russia, for sure. The question to our partners is: can they respond?”

Kyiv’s Mayor was standing by a heavily bomb damaged building and said, “This is one of the worst attacks. You can see it is a children’s hospital.”

The British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer condemned the missile attack in Kyiv.

Sir Keir said, “Attacking innocent children. The most depraved of actions. We stand with Ukraine against Russian aggression – our support won’t falter.”
