Russia is ramping up their air defences as they fear that Ukraine could attack Moscow and Pantsir-S1 missile defence systems have appeared on roofs across the capital.

Air defence missile systems have been installed near to Vladimir Putin’s official residence and on the roof of the Ministry of Defence building in Moscow.

Moscow fears an attack is likely and believe that Ukraine drones or cruise missiles could be used in the capital.

There has been multiple strikes deep inside Russia on key facilities, but it is unlikely Kyiv would attack a city of civilians.

Putin’s spokesman said on Friday, “They are responsible for ensuring the security of the country in general and the capital in particular.”

Retired Colonel Viktor Litovkin, told RTVI, “Good air defence systems have been placed on the roofs of Moscow’s largest buildings to protect against attacks by cruise missiles, or Ukrainian drones.

“During the special military operation, you need to protect yourself, because Ukraine has the opportunity to strike over long distances.”

🇷🇺 is installing a Pantsyr air defence system on the roof of this building in moscow. I find this somewhat amusing for two reasons:

1: “Kyiv in 3 days” and now this 🤣
2: Not only do we have coordinates, there are PICTURES and VIDEOS of the installation 🤣

He added, “They have been redesigned, modernised.

“The Americans have helped create an on-board software system that allows the drones to go to specific targets.

“They helped supply these drones with a combat charge – so no precaution is unnecessary.”

NATO and Western allies have refused to provide long range weaponry which could target bases deep inside Russia over fears this could escalate a wider conflict.

Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “Potentially, this is extremely dangerous.

“It will mean bringing the conflict to a whole new level, which, of course, will not bode well from the point of view of global and pan-European security.”
