Capital Letters, the not-for-profit housing organisation owned by member London boroughs, has launched a new letting agency.

The Capital Letters agency will work with landlords across London, offering let only, let and rent, and fully managed solutions, designed to directly help the work Capital Letters does with families experiencing homelessness.

Amy Cowan, head of acquisitions and tenancy sustainment for Capital Letters and the lead for the agency, said: “Everything we do at Capital Letters is about ending homelessness, and the new agency helps is do that by funding our core work.”

She continued: “The agency offers landlords a professional, competitively priced lettings and full management package, but unlike most other agencies we are completely not-for-profit.

“The work we do for landlords isn’t funding shareholders, or cars with our name on, it’s funding our work with families who are experiencing homelessness. A landlord needs to run their business, and by working with us landlords can make the world a better place too.”

Erol Hussein, Capital Letters letting manager, added: “Our ethical approach means that there are no hidden fees, there are no surprises – what we say is what we do. We really value the landlords working with us, and we value the tenants who will live in some great properties in London. We’re doing away with the rent bidding war and commit that the asking rent is the rent it will be let at.”
