The NX8 makes the Rogue look outdated. Nissan’s new electric SUV is bigger than the Rogue and features some of the most advanced tech in its lineup.

Nissan reveals new NX8 electric SUV in China

Nissan’s joint venture in China, Dongfeng Nissan, revealed the new NX8, a mid to large-sized SUV that’s set to launch in the first half of the year.

At 4,870 mm long, 1,920 mm wide, and 1,680 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,917 mm, the NX8 outshines the Rogue and Ariya SUVs.

It’s also way more advanced than likely any Nissan vehicle to date. The NX8 is Nissan’s first SUV and second EV based on Dongfeng’s platforms that include electric drive, vehicle control units, and intelligent in-vehicle systems.

According to CarNewsChina, the NX8 is the first foreign electric SUV in China equipped with an 800V platform and 5C ultra-fast charging.

It will be available with a fully electric (EV) or extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain. The EV version is powered by a new lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery from CATL, delivering a CLTC range of up to 650 km (404 miles).

Meanwhile, the EREV version uses a smaller LFP battery, a single 241 hp electric motor, and a 1.5T gas engine, offering up to 185 km (115 miles) electric range.

The interior features a new minimalist setup with a dual infotainment screen, a separate driver cluster, and an added head-up display (HUD).

Nissan’s electric SUV is also equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR, enabling smart driving features like Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) on both city and highway roads, as well as full-scenario intelligent parking assistance.

The NX8 is scheduled to launch in China in the first half of 2026. Like the N7, its first EV introduced with Dongfeng, Nissan will likely export the electric SUV to overseas markets like Thailand, Australia, and other parts of Southeast Asia.

We will learn prices and more details closer to launch, but since the N7 starts at just 119,900 yuan ($17,000), the NX8 will likely be priced closer to around 140,000 yuan ($20,000).
