North Korean soldiers are so “inadequately trained” Russian commanders have not allowed them to fight in Ukraine, according to Western observers.

North Korea sent 12,000 troops to Russia, but the Kremlin’s forces are unable to get them battle ready.

One Western official said, “We say due to poor training and lack of logistical support as the primary reasons why DPRK (North Korea) haven’t started the fight yet.”

However, according to Ukrainian military intelligence spokesperson Andrii Cherniak the DPRK troops are involved in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Speaking to Radio Free Europe, Cherniak said, “If they (DPRK troops) have joined units engaged in active hostilities, then we can confidently say that they have joined the fight,” adding that they might not be on frontline positions.

He said, “Maybe they are not in advanced positions, but they enable aggression against Ukraine, ensure the killing of Ukrainian service members.”

Ukrainian intelligence reported that DPRK troops are hungry and CNN reported that they are not happy working with the Russians.

Intercepted Russian communications has revealed one soldier said, “What the f*** are we supposed to do with them?” he added that the DPRK “can’t be commanded like ours” and are “inadequately trained.”
