People advisory business, NSCG (New Street Consulting Group), has acquired The Chemistry Group as it continues to cement its position as a leading people strategy partner to leaders and enterprise businesses.

The Chemistry Group is a fast-growing talent strategy consultancy that increases the value of companies by improving the performance of their people through data analytics, technology and behavioural science.

With offices in London and New York, The Chemistry Group was founded in 2003 by CEO Roger Philby who will continue in a leadership role within the combined business.

The acquisition will allow NSCG to develop and accelerate its international growth strategy following successful projects for clients in the Middle East.

NSCG CEO, Doug Baird, said: “Our mission is to be the UK’s leading people advisory business and the acquisition of the Chemistry Group accelerates this strategy. We are excited by the scale of the opportunity as this allow us to build on our excellent reputation in strategic consultancy and c-suite talent acquisition – delivering exceptional work for our clients.

“Our clients will benefit immediately from the deep expertise of the combined teams in talent strategy consulting working alongside our complementary solutions executive search and interim management. We are also excited by the technology that Chemistry brings to NSCG that allows us to deliver assessment at scale. As we combine forces, I can’t wait to see what we achieve in 2024 and beyond.”

The Chemistry Group works with FTSE 100, Fortune 500 and enterprise level companies with a strong track record in financial services and consumer markets. In 2020, The Chemistry Group was backed by BGF, one of the largest and most experienced growth capital investors in the UK and Ireland.

Roger Philby from The Chemistry Group added: “Chemistry is excited to become a part of NSCG. We both share a fundamental belief that unlocking the full potential of leaders is essential for organisational performance, especially for our ambitious global clients. Our combined capabilities will result in a unique offering in the advisory consultancy market, providing a new playbook for the C-Suite.

“It has always been crucial for Chemistry, in its pursuit to fulfil its growth ambitions, to find a place where its talented individuals can flourish, we believe NSCG is such a place.”
