British athletics legends, turned property experts, Steve Backley OBE and Roger Black MBE, have become brand ambassadors for eXp UK, the network of personal estate agents.

The pair will be attending a number of charity events with eXp UK, as well as hosting regular webinars to help support the brand’s agents in creating the right mindset to help them achieve their own success.

Both Backley and Black experienced great success, as athletes and upon retiring, the two joined forces to deliver workshops that helped individuals optimise their own performance, initially within the corporate space.

Together, they have built a successful property portfolio while also providing insight and education to investors. They will no wturn their attention to supporting independent agents.

Backley commented: “My sporting career as a javelin thrower took a number of twists, with an early flourish of success that took me all the way to world number one and being crowned world athlete of the year in 1990, followed by a succession of injuries which truly tested my resolve in how to be dogged and determined.

“I am now looking forward to working with the terrific talent at eXp UK and helping them to overcome their challenges in business ownership, using what I had learned to realign their mindset and get a deeper grip and belief in achieving their goals.

“In short, we now want to help motivate, reassure, encourage, challenge and support all eXp UK agents to an Olympic standard of success through sharing our performance insights.”

Black added: “There are many similarities between high performance in the worlds of sport and business, and we are excited to be showing the agents at eXp UK how they can overcome their fears, doubts and challenges and run successful estate agency businesses.

“I remember the first time I met with eXp UK agents was at the 2022 UK tour where I was speaking at their events. I couldn’t help but think that they were similar to athletes with their mentality and the challenges they face.”
