Women in Residential Property (WIRP) has announced a series of online events addressing various aspects of wellbeing.

The professional membership organisation is holding 11 of the events in total, covering topics from mental health to financial management. The series, supported by headline sponsors Convey-Assist and gold sponsors Moneypenny, will culminate in an in-person gathering at Moneypenny’s HQ in Wrexham.

Concerns about wellbeing across the residential property industry have been repeatedly highlighted since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2022 Wellbeing and Resilience Survey conducted by the Association of Residential Managing Agents and the Institute of Residential Property Management revealed that property management professionals scored significantly lower than Office for National Statistics averages when asked about their life satisfaction and levels of happiness.

Research conducted by Agents Together in 2020 revealed similar challenges in estate agency, with 64% of respondents saying they’d experienced an issue with mental health.

“Running a series of events allows us to address many aspects of wellbeing, acknowledging that it’s rarely one thing in isolation that results in our wellbeing suffering,” said Emma Vigus, WIRP chair. “I don’t think I’m alone in feeling as if I’ve lurched from one challenge to another in the last three years, which has resulted in most aspects of my wellbeing taking a back seat.

“I know I should focus more on self-management, but I rarely have the opportunity. Registering for this series will allow attendees to start 2023 by making a positive commitment to looking after themselves,” Vigus added.

The first of the WIRP events, addressing the menopause, is scheduled for 12pm on 18 January, followed by a webinar on 22 February focusing on individual and team resilience. Tickets are available via the WIRP website at £10 for each event, with discounts available for WIRP members.
