All-electric courier Packfleet and much-loved pizza brand Pizza Pilgrims have joined forces to provide food lovers with carbon-neutral deliveries.

The collaboration will see Pizza Pilgrims’ DIY Pizza-in-the-Post kits delivered straight to customers’ doorsteps through the courier’s cutting-edge routing technology.

Aided by Packfleet’s live map tracking, customers can track their pizza kit at every step of the journey, and the courier’s industry-leading success rates mean they’ll never go hungry. The courier boasts a delivery failure rate of only 0.07%, 10x less than leading traditional couriers – reducing both waste and the volume of resource-intensive redeliveries.

On delivery day, customers will have the option to change everything about the delivery – including the time their parcel arrives, the address it arrives at, and whether drivers ring the doorbell – all at any point on the drivers’ journey.

All of Pizza Pilgrims’ Neapolitan pizza meal-kit orders, both one off orders and subscriptions, within the M25 will be delivered by Packfleet, with the switch to an all-electric courier coming at a time when the capital is facing unprecedented levels of air pollution, in part due to the use of petrol and diesel vehicles.

Both companies are on a mission to decarbonise their respective industries, with the pizzeria brand recently joining the Zero Carbon Forum, a non-profit organisation driving sustainability and decarbonisation within the hospitality industry.

Meanwhile, Packfleet recently became B Corp certified, with every vehicle being charged with 100% renewable energy and drivers being paid 30% higher than industry average.

Tristan Thomas, CEO and co-founder of Packfleet said, “Pizza Pilgrims have been providing a high-quality dining experience for a decade, and now they’re looking to perfect their meal-kit experience with carbon-neutral, customer-focused deliveries.

“Customer interaction is one of the most important factors in the hospitality industry, and our merchants trust us with the final part of their sale. We’re as dedicated to high-quality delivery as Pizza Pilgrims are to pizza, and we look forward to working alongside them – we’ve already treated ourselves to some of their famous pizzas!”

Gavin Smith, Managing Director at Pizza Pilgrims added, “At Pizza Pilgrims it has always been important to us to run the business the ‘right’ way – looking after our people and our community in a genuine and authentic way.

“We’re delighted to have found a like-minded partner in Packfleet that supports us in pushing towards our goal. You can expect the same high-quality Pizza-in-the-Post, but now, carbon-neutral!”
