The Met Office has said that north Scotland will see sleet and snow on the peaks and across the UK Saturday is expected to be to the coldest night of the year.
Sub-zero temperatures will hit on Saturday and forecasters are warning the mercury will plummet to minus 4 in Wales and minus 5 in the South West at night.
A Met Office spokesman said, “We can see there’s big swings in temperatures, all it takes is a quick change from a southern wind into a north wind to have that change.
“It’s not unusual to see these changes.”
