Fuller’s has said that the company is in “great shape” as festive sales rose by a fifth and in the fiver week period to Christmas and New Year, sales soared 21.6% compared to the previous year.

The Chiswick based company said that across their hotels and pubs sales rose due to a “great performance.”

So far in the financial year in the 42 weeks to 20 January, like-for-like sales have grown by 11.5%.

Simon Emeny, chief executive of Fuller’s, said they are still seeing the impact of the “challenging economic environment.”

He said, “I am delighted to see the business continue to deliver strong sales growth.

“It is testament to the hard work, dedication and energy of our amazing team members who pulled out all the stops to ensure our customers had a brilliant Christmas and New Year.

“The business is in great shape.”

Emeny said that they have “exciting plans” to grow the company, “These include a number of high-profile, trade-enhancing investment schemes in our existing estate, which will ensure we continue to build on our current momentum.”
