Vladimir Putin has moved some if his units from the frontlines in Ukraine to reinforce “holes in its defences” in the Kursk Oblast, which comes as Ukrainian forces invaded region last week.

On 6 August more than 2,000 Ukrainian troops entered the Russian Federation which is the first time Russia has been invaded since World War II.

The surprise invasion of the Kursk Oblast sent Putin “seething” and Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi now control more than 1,000 square kilometers in the region, the Kyiv Independent reported.

The Tavria operational-strategic group, is a grouping of troops who are the formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces which is led by Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi.

Dmytro Lykhovii, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s Tavria Group said on national TV that Moscow is redeploying their military units to the Kursk area and also in other directions.

He added, “When there were numerous Russian personnel, there were fewer assault actions, and when they started to withdraw to the Kursk direction, there was a sharp increase in activity in the sector on the left bank of the Dnipro River.

It will take a few days to understand whether these were Russian demonstrative actions, when they allegedly want to show that despite the decrease of their defensive orders, they are able to attack, or whether it is some other plan.

During the surprise attack in the Kursk Oblast Ukrainian forces inside the Russian Federation had “dozens of Russian servicemen” including “Federal Security members” surrender.

Many Russian’s surrendered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces with their hands behind their heads waving a white flag in the Kursk region.

Nine of Vladimir Putin’s security service gave themselves up also waving a white flag with their hands held high.

Vladimir Osechkin, founder of Gulagu.net, said, “Dozens of Russian servicemen, including a whole number of FSB staff have surrendered to Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“There is shock among the Federal Security Service members, because it is one thing when the war is somewhere far away, and another when your FSB colleagues are captured and forced to lie face down, and taken away to become a part of an exchange fund.

I even saw how several members of FSB wrote: ‘Don’t call these men FSB, they are only border guards’.”
