Vladimir Putin has said on Thursday that Russian forces will target decision making centre in Ukraine using their newest Oreshnik hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missiles.

Putin told delegates at the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Summit in Astana they are selecting their targets now.

The Russian dictator said, “The Defense Ministry and the General Staff of the Russian Army are currently selecting targets to strike on the territory of Ukraine.

“These targets may include military facilities, defense industry enterprises or decision-making centers in Kyiv.”

He insisted that Moscow will respond to any attacks inside Russia using Western made long-range missiles, this includes the “possible continuation of Oreshnik tests in combat conditions, as was done on November 21.”

On Thursday Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack across Ukraine targeting the country’s energy infrastructure leaving almost 1 million without power.

The Ukrainian Air Forced issues a nationwide wide alert warning “due to the threat of missiles danger” as Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers took off and explosions were reported across many cities.

Kyiv’s Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko said that Russian air strikes were “taking place all over Ukraine” and people affected by power cuts have been told to take shelter and emergency power is in use.

Andriy Yermak, the head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office said Russia is deliberately stockpiling weapons from North Korea, Iran and China to attack the energy infrastructure during the winter months to freeze Ukrainians into submission.

Yermak said, “They stockpiled missiles for strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, for warfare against civilians during the cold, during the winter.”
