Property development and management company Calmont Homes has entered administration.
The developer forms part of Calmont Group, which was formed in 1995, and delivers properties across a range of sectors including residential, commercial and leisure.
On 9 February, Calmont Homes (Oak Meadows) appointed joint administrators Shaun Hudson and Allan Kelly from FRP Advisory Trading.
The developer operates across Scotland and England and has three offices in Scotland, the North East and the South East.
This comes during a turbulent time for the SME housing market. In November, a report from the Home Builders Federation found that almost all SME developers (97%) said tax and regulation would stifle housebuilding this year. Another 94% cited securing planning permission as a major issue.
Earlier this year, Caldwell Construction, based in Stoke-on-Trent and Warrington, also collapsed into administration after 20 years of trading. The firm employed over 400 people and specialised in groundwork services for national housebuilders.
