The latest webinar in the Rightmove, FCS Compliance anti-money laundering (AML) series has been announced.

Looking at the 10 most costly AML mistakes business make and how to avoid them, this hour-long webinar will take place from 10.00am on Wednesday 22 May 2024. It is free to Rightmove members.

Hosted by Malcolm Driscoll, lead AML consultant at FCS Compliance, the session will look at:

+ The 10 most common compliance pitfalls and how to avoid making them

+ Instances of recent fines imposed on estate agency businesses

+ The consequences of non-compliance – from fines to deal fall throughs and ultimately reputational damage

Driscoll said: “HMRC has just announced that a further 254 estate agencies have been fined for non-compliance.  This highlights the fact that many businesses are falling short of the requirements expected by HMRC Inspectors.

“In the case of customer due diligence (CDD), short cuts errors and oversights are all too often leading to the derailment of deals and lost business opportunities.  Much of this is avoidable.”
