Kyiv’s military administration has said on Monday that Russian Tu22m3 and Tu-96MS nuclear capable strategic bombers launched stand-off Kinzhal cruise missiles on the Ukrainian capital.

Apartment blocks, businesses, a dam and other energy infrastructure have all been hit and four Kalibr missiles cruise ships were also involved in the deadly attack.

Serhii Popko the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration said that kamikaze drones were used in the attack.

He said, “After complex manoeuvres, cruise missiles entered Kyiv in very dense groups from different directions.

“During the attack of these cruise missiles, the enemy launched several ballistic missiles in the direction of the capital in a row, including Kinzhals. About one and a half dozen missiles were hit by air defense forces and means.”

The Kyiv Independent reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky called Vladimir Putin a “sick creature” that “everyone has understood for a long time.

President Zelensky has called on Western allies to lift restrictions on using long-range missiles which will help Ukrainian forces to target military sites responsible for this attack to prevent more death of innocent lives in Ukraine.

He said, “He [Putin] can only do what the world allows him to do. Weakness, inadequacy of decisions in response feeds terror.”

On Saturday, Ukraine has vowed “retribution” in Russia as they continue to punch their way through Russian territory gaining more ground.

President Zelensky gave Vladimir Putin a direct warning that Russia will find out “what retribution is” and said the Russian leader is the “sick man from Red Square who constantly threatens everyone with the red button.”

Shortly after Zelensky warned the Kremlin that Ukrainian forces “will reach any point” inside the Russian Federation as thousands are now inside the Kursk region.

President Zelensky said in a message to mark Independence Day on Saturday, “Our enemy will also know what the Ukrainian-way retaliation is. Worthy, symmetrical, long-ranged.

“They will know that sooner or later a Ukrainian response will reach any point in the Russian Federation that is a source of danger to the life of our state and our people.”
