A Russian submarine is sailing through the English Channel and the North Sea which is being closely watched by NATO.
The submarine has been classed as an “explosive hazard” and it is not known if the nuclear capable vessel has any board.
The Black Sea Fleet submarine Novorossiysk suffered a fuel leakage of diesel in to the hull and the crew are unable to fix the malfunctions, it has been reported.
The 243ft long Russian submarine can hold Kalibr missiles, however there is no confirmed evidence to prove either way.

A Russian source said the sub is “experiencing serious technical problems” following issues in the Mediterranean Sea.
Belgian, Dutch, French and British navies are closely monitoring two Russian submarines, the Novorossiysk and more recently the Varshavyanka-class diesel-electric attack sub also came into difficulties.
The Black Sea Fleet denied on Monday there is a “malfunction and emergency surfacing of the submarine Novorossiysk, off the coast of France.”
According to RIA Novosti the Russian sub was on a “scheduled inter-fleet transit,” adding, “according to international navigation rules, submarines pass through the Strait of Dover exclusively on the surface.”

VChK-OGPU which is known for have intelligence sources, had reported “fuel is leaking directly into the hold” on the submarine. “There are no spare parts for repairs or qualified specialists on the submarine, and the crew is unable to fix the malfunctions,” it added. Other problems have begun to occur due to the serious accident. The fuel accumulated in the hold is an explosive hazard.”
NATO Maritime Command sent a message to the submarine, “We are watching.”
