The Russian ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin told the BBC that he is “not going to deny” that Moscow is tracking Royal Navay nuclear submarines.

The Sunday Times reported that an investigation found that there is Russian sensors, and some have been found in the sea dotted around the UK.

BBC journalist Laura Kuenssberg asked the Russian ambassador about the sensors, Kelin said, “I am not going to deny it, but I wonder whether we really have an interest in following all the British submarines with very old outdated nuclear warheads… all these threats are extremely exaggerated.”

This is despite Moscow warning they are going to nuke London, Brimingham and other areas.

Kelin told Kuenssberg, “This threat has been invented, absolutely, there is no threat at all from Russia to the UK.”

However, it appears Kelin suffers with memory loss, last November the Russian ambassador to the UK warned that in the “worst case scenario” there could be a nuclear confrontation as the UK has “completely ignored” all of Vladimir Putin’s warnings.

He said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel, “It has been reported that another batch of Storm Shadows was delivered [to Ukraine] several weeks ago.

“While there have been no clear statements that they [British authorities] have allowed Kiev to use these missiles for strikes inside Russia, Ukraine has already used them to strike the Kursk Region.

“I would like to note that the British have completely ignored all our warnings and opted for escalatory actions to further worsen the Ukrainian crisis.

“And, naturally, this is fraught with bigger strategic risks, and, in the worst case scenario, even a confrontation between nuclear powers.”
