The Six Nations title race went down to the final match as France beat Scotland to be crowned champions.
England at least held up their end of the bargain, hammering Wales 68-14 in a 10-try demolition in Cardiff to move to the top of the standings, and the title would have been theirs had France failed to deliver under pressure at the Stade de France against Scotland.
But Les Blues got the job done despite a nervy first-half, running out 35-16 winners in Paris to secure a first title since 2022.
That came after Super Saturday began with an unconvincing Ireland win in Rome. Dan Sheehan scored a hat-trick as the Irish ran in four tries for a bonus-point victory over Italy, but the 22-17 triumph would only have been enough for a third straight title had England and France both slipped up.
