Someone built a Tesla Cybertruck dually – dope or nope?

Tesla Cybertruck has caught the attention of many people, including modders who have now built the first Cybertruck dually.

It could be the first all-electric dually pickup truck?

Dually trucks, also known as dual-rear-wheel (DRW) trucks, are heavy-duty pickups equipped with an extra set of wheels on each side of the rear axle, resulting in a total of four rear wheels. This design significantly enhances the vehicle’s stability and load-carrying capacity, making dually trucks an ideal choice for those who require robust performance for demanding tasks. Typically, these trucks are favored by commercial drivers, contractors, and anyone involved in towing or hauling heavy loads, such as trailers, boats, or construction equipment.

One of the primary advantages of dually trucks is their increased towing capability. The additional rear wheels distribute the weight of the load more evenly, which minimizes the risk of sway and improves traction, especially when navigating challenging terrains. This stability is crucial when towing large trailers, as it helps maintain control and safety on the road. Additionally, dually trucks often feature powerful engines and reinforced frames, further enhancing their towing and hauling capabilities.

When it comes to electric trucks, we have yet to see automakers venture in that space.

We don’t expect Tesla to do it for the Cybertruck either, but aftermarket modders are taking the idea and running with it, at least in the case of Red’s Miami.

The shop has started to release images of its Tesla Cybertruck with dual 26” Diesel wheels wrapped in 35” Fury tires in the back (via Instagram):

The Cybertruck should enjoy a lot of the previously mentioned benefits of dually trucks, but the obvious problem in this case is the impact on efficiency.

The truck already gets less range than Tesla originally promised, and this extra traction and drag will undoubtedly negatively affect the efficiency and, therefore, the range.

Red’s Miami hasn’t released any details about the range, but we might get more details in the coming days as the vehicle is going to be displayed at SEMA this week.

The Tesla Cybertruck tri-motor, or Cyberbeast, which is the version here, has 320 miles of range stock and 11,000 lbs of towing capacity.

What do you think about this Cybertruck dually? Dope or Nope? Let us know in the comment section below.
