Ukrainian forces conducted missile strikes using the British made Storm Shadow cruise missiles and Neptune anti-ship missiles which targeted Russian Dnepr Grouping of Forces headquarters in Kherson region.

According to analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on 1 November, citing Russian sources, in the Kherson region, on the Arabat Spit, that Russian air defenses only intercepted half of the missiles in the attack.

The ISW reports said, Multiple Russian sources claimed that Colonel General Mikhail Teplinsky, the recently named commander of the Russian Dnepr Grouping of Forces operating in Kherson direction, was uninjured.

“Russian opposition media outlet Astra reported that four Ukrainian missiles struck the Aura recreation center near Strilkove that served as the Russian Dnepr Grouping’s headquarters.”

Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Volodymyr Fitio has said that the Lyman-Kupiansk axis remains one of the “most difficult ones on the front line, “ and Russian troops continue to try to occupy Kupiansk again.

Fitio said, “The Lyman-Kupiansk axis remains one of the most difficult ones on the front line.

“Over the past 24 hours, the enemy attacked eight times, launched eight air strikes against our positions, in particular, from Su-35, Su-34 aircraft.

“Also, seven kamikaze drones were used. It was near Ivanivka, Kharkiv region. The enemy lost 149 of its servicemen over the past 24 hours.”

Fitio added, that seven Russian tanks and nine armored combat vehicles were destroyed in the Kupiansk region.

“This is quite a lot. We can see that the enemy has intensified the use of exactly combat equipment and does not abandon attempts to occupy Kupiansk, an important logistic center,” he said.
