According to a report a Hamas chief is living in a London council house whilst “revitalising” terrorist acts in Israel.

Hamas terrorist chief Muhammad Qassem Sawalha, 62, has been accused of running operations in the West Bank and he was provided with a £112,300 discount on a £320,700 home in Barnet by the council.

Sawalha who is the Hamas “representative in the UK” and his discount is believed to be around £500 shot of the maximum allowed under the Right to Buy scheme.

The Sunday Times reported that the Hamas chief lives mortgage free in the UK in Colindale after leaving Israel and dodging their security services in the 1990s.

He worked on the ruling body of Hamas and somehow gained British citizenship despite the terrorist organisation being proscribed by the British government.

A US Department of Justice indictment claims Sawalha has held discussion over “revitalising” terrorist acts in Israel and was helping to illegally launder money that helped with operations in the West Bank, Israel.

Barnet council’s leader, Barry Rawlings, said he is “horrified to think [Sawalha] could be living in our midst.”

He added, “We will liaise with other stakeholders including the police and the government in reviewing the full history of this case and will take all appropriate action.

“This has emerged at a time when communities locally are in desperate need of reassurance following the escalating conflict in the Middle East, and we have a responsibility as the council to ensure we can give that reassurance.”
