Tesla Powerwall installations are going vertical based on the latest data released by the company. There are now 750,000 Powerwall installed worldwide.

Recently, we were surprised to see Tesla announce that it is now capable of producing 700,000 Poweralls per year.

The surprise primarily came from the fact that, as of last year, Tesla had only deployed 500,000 Powerwalls since launching the product in 2015.

It is wild to have installed 500,000 units in 8 years and now have the capacity to deploy 700,000 in just a year.

However, Tesla has now released a new data point hinting at the recent surge in Powerwall production and installations.

Tesla announced yesterday that it has now installed over 750,000 Powerwalls worldwide:

The chart appears to be in line with Tesla’s previously announced installation of its 500,000th Powerall in June of last year:

But even then, it is pretty incredible that Tesla went from installing roughly 250,000 Powerwalls over the last year to now having the capacity to deploy 700,000 of them.

Though having the production capacity is different than the installation capacity – though it would be strange for Tesla to deploy a production capacity several times bigger than its installation capacity.

The company has also been increasingly adding more installers to its certified energy installer program, presumably increasing its installation capacity.

Today, Tesla confirmed having deployed 6.9 GWh of energy storage capacity in Q3 2024 – though the majority of that is expected to be from its Megapacks rather than Powerwalls.
