The IONIQ 5 made a comeback after sales jumped 33% last month, and now Hyundai is offering a $10,000 discount to sweeten the deal.
Hyundai slaps a $10,000 discount on the 2026 IONIQ 5
Despite many automakers reporting fewer EV sales over the past few months after the $7,500 federal tax credit ended at the end of September, Hyundai’s electric SUV posted its best February sales month in the US yet.
Hyundai sold 3,239 IONIQ 5s last month, up 33% from February 2025, bringing the total to 5,326 (+14%) so far in 2026. The performance helped drive Hyundai’s total electric vehicle sales up 6% compared to the same period last year.
As the February sales numbers are released, the IONIQ 5’s strong performance looks even more impressive. Ford reported Mustang Mach-E sales fell 54% to 1,502, while Honda Prologue sales dropped 63% with just 1,067 units sold in February.
Hyundai, like many others, has been compensating for the loss of the $7,500 tax credit with its own discounts. After cutting prices on the 2026 IONIQ 5 by nearly $10,000 on some trims last year, Hyundai is upping the ante.

Through its new Getaway Sales Event, which started on March 3, Hyundai is offering up to $10,000 in total savings on every IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 trim.
To take advantage of the savings, the vehicle must be financed through Hyundai Motor Finance with delivery by March 31, 2026.
If you’re looking to finance, the deal is even better. Hyundai is offering 0% APR financing for up to 72 months, plus an extra $5,000 off the 2026 IONIQ 5. The IONIQ 9 is also listed with 0% APR financing for up to 72 months with an additional $3,000 off.

The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SE Standard Range is available to lease for as low as $259 per month. The offer is for 24 months with $3,999 due at signing. Upgrading to the SE RWD, with up to 314 miles of range, costs just $10 more per month at $269.
For those looking for something a little bigger, the three-row IONIQ 9 is listed with monthly leases starting at $369.

Hyundai isn’t the only one offering a $10,000 discount on its top-selling EVs. The 2026 Chevy Equinox EV is also available with a $10,000 total cash allowance, with leases starting at $259 per month.
With three new electric SUVs rolling out, Toyota is joining in with up to $7,000 in lease cash and 0% interest for 72 months, plus a $3,500 cash incentive. Toyota has the 2026 bZ listed with monthly leases starting at $289.
Hyundai, Chevy, and Toyota’s EV deals end on March 31, 2026. Some offers may be regional and vary by state (you can check local offers at the bottom). As more automakers release March incentives, we’ll keep you updated with the latest offers.
