The West could hand Vladimir Putin a “victory” on silver plate over their “lethargy” as Ukraine desperately need more support from their allies.

Many are saying that Russia is “winning the war” in Ukraine as they have plenty of “cannon fodder” to throw in the battlefields which is costing Putin the lives of around a 900 soldiers a day.

Moscow has an endless support of weapons from Iran and North Korea and it seems that Putin is prepared for the long haul.

The war in between Hamas and Israel has shifted the focus for the West and some supplies destined for Ukraine from the US ended up in Israel.

The West are being warned that their “lethargy” could hand Putin a “victory” in Ukraine and the Economist said that NATO must be prepared for the “dire” consequences of Donald Trump being sworn in as the next US President in 2024.

Should Trump take the top seat at the White House then support from the US could decrease considerably ending up with a poor outcome for Ukraine.

NATO’s General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg warned that Russia has a “high tolerance for casualties” after the Russian Army has lost over 525,000 soldiers.

Stoltenberg said that Russia has “lost a substantial part of its conventional forces. Hundreds of aircraft and thousands of tanks.”

Stoltenberg added, “As Ukraine has moved forward, Russia has fallen backward. It is now weaker politically, militarily, and economically.”

According to an expert Ukraine’s counteroffensive has failed in making any major breakthroughs and the “prospects of success look dim.”

The war is fast approaching its third year and Ukraine are equally losing thousands of troops in the fight against Putin.

Michael Kofman, a senior fellow at the Washington-based Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, warned that the “advantages in 2024” are on Russia’s side.

Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Kofman said, “The material advantages in 2024 are principally on Russia’s side, but they don’t appear decisive enough that Russia will be able to achieve its political aims.

“It’s inaccurate to suggest that Russia is winning the war.

“However, if the right choices are not made next year on Ukraine’s approach and Western resourcing, then Ukraine’s prospects for success look dim.”
