With its official debut in just a few days, Toyota unveiled the interior of the new SUV for the first time, revealing three rows of seating.
Toyota previews 3-row electric SUV interior
After previewing the exterior of the new SUV last week, Toyota offered a closer look on Monday, revealing the interior for the first time.
Although it didn’t directly say it, we had a good feeling that the vehicle was a three-row SUV and likely a successor to the Highlander.
The latest image of the interior confirms it is, in fact, a three-row SUV. Although it’s still hard to see in Toyota’s official photo, if you brighten it slightly, you can clearly see the three rows of seating. You can also see an updated infotainment setup, much like the one found in the new C-HR and bZ Woodland electric SUVs.
Toyota has yet to reveal powertrain details, but the company did confirm last year that it plans to begin building a new three-row electric SUV at its manufacturing plant in Georgetown, Kentucky, in 2026.
The big, boxy exterior design resembles that of the current Grand Highlander, Toyota’s largest SUV sold in the US.
The standard Highlander is nearly 195″ long, while the Grand Highlander measures over 200″ in length. Toyota’s largest electric SUV, the bZ Woodland, is just 190.2″ long, leaving room for a larger three-row option.
With Toyota moving away from the numbers in its EV names (For example, the bZ4X is now just bZ), the three-row SUV will likely carry the Highlander name, possibly the bZ Highlander.

Although Toyota said last year that it “plans to produce two all-new, three-row battery electric SUVs in the US,” including one for Subaru, it could still be offered as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), or both.
Toyota added the 2026 C-HR and bZ Woodland to its EV lineup this year, joining the bZ. A three-row option would cover nearly every SUV segment.
We will learn more when Toyota reveals the new three-row SUV in full on February 10. Check back for the latest updates.
