The transfer window is now open and Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all busy on deals. The Gunners have seen an opening bid for Declan Rice rejected, and are now preparing a huge second bid, and have reportedly also seen a first offer for Kai Havertz turned down by rivals Chelsea in a busy start to the summer.

The Blues, meanwhile, have agreed personal terms with Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson and are also working on signing a new midfielder. Brighton star Moises Caicedo is strongly linked with a number of big clubs but wants to move to Stamford Bridge, with Arsenal focused on Rice. Manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring in Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, though Manchester United are also eyeing the 27-year-old.

Over at Tottenham, James Maddison and Harvey Barnes have reportedly been the subject of a double bid following Leicester’s relegation, while Dejan Kulusevski is finally set to join permanently for around £25m. United have given up on bringing Harry Kane to Old Trafford, and will instead turn their focus to Victor Osimhen, Goncalo Ramos and Rasmus Hojlund. Chelsea join Barella race

Chelsea have joined the race to sign Newcastle target Nicolo Barella.

The Inter midfielder is reportedly available this summer, though reports a £50million move to the Magpies were quickly shot down earlier this week.

Now, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea have asked for Barella in exchange for Romelu Lukaku, who wants to return to Inter but will not be allowed to do so on loan.

Liverpool have also been linked.

More: Brentford sign Beckham

Brentford have confirmed the permanent signing of Romeo Beckham from Inter Milan.

The 20-year-old, the second eldest of David Beckham’s four children, spent the second half of this season on loan at the club from MLS side Inter Miami, where his father is the president and co-owner.

Beckham impressed for the B side this season, making 15 appearances, and has signed a one-year contract to make his stay in west London permanent. The contract also features an option for a further year.

Atalanta demanding €100m for Hojlund

According to The Athletic, the Serie A side made clear their demands to the young striker’s agents this week which was more than double the expected fee of around £40million.

Further talks are expected between the player and the club, but United will not consider bids anywhere near the figures requested.

Arsenal very confident over Rice and Havertz

Arsenal are very confident about signing both Declan Rice and Kai Havertz this summer.

That’s according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

A second bid for Rice is due over the coming days after a first offer worth £80million was rejected, and reportedly classed as “embarrassing” by West Ham.

A concrete offer for Havertz is imminent, with Chelsea holding out for £75m.

Raya tells Brentford to ‘let me go’

David Raya says Brentford “need to let me go” amid interest in the goalkeeper from Tottenham and Manchester United.

Spurs are the frontrunners to sign the 27-year-old, who Brentford value at £40million, and have agreed personal terms with the player. Spurs are looking to replace outgoing captain Hugo Lloris this summer and the clubs remain in negotiations over a free.

“I know there are rumours about me leaving,” Raya said in an interview with The Times. “There are some options for me to go but obviously Brentford are asking for a lot of money.

“That could make clubs not want to buy me, it could make them look somewhere else. But if that’s the value they give me then it’s up to them. I have a year left on my contract and until then I’m a Brentford player, there’s nothing I can do.”

Man United tracking Watkins

Manchester United have added Ollie Watkins to a list of striker targets.

That’s according to The Athletic, who claim the Aston Villa striker is of interest after it became clear Harry Kane was highly unlikely to leave Tottenham.

Rasmus Hojlund was further up the list but United are unwilling to pay the £86million Atalanta want to consider selling.

Watkins scored 15 goals for Villa last season.

A remarkable report coming out of France claims Paris Saint-Germain have held talks with Mikel Arteta over becoming their new manager.

Newcastle fail in Kulusevski bid

Newcastle have failed in a late attempt to sign Dejan Kulusevski.

The oil-rich club had hoped to hijack Tottenham’s deal to sign their loanee permanently by matching the £29million agreed fee between the club, according to The Chronicle.

But even the sway of Champions League football was not enough and Kulusevski only has eyes for Spurs.

Plus, Daniel Levy has managed to negotiate a smaller fee of £25m.
