The US President Donald Trump has blasted Vladimir Putin as Russia is ‘absolutely pounding Ukraine.

Trump has issued a stern warning to Putin he must act “before it is too late” and in a shocking turn of events the US President has threatened there will be major sanctions on Russia.

Trump warned Putin there will be “large scale” banking sanctions including tariffs on Russia until there is a “final” ceasefire.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, “Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely “pounding” Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions, Sanctions, and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED.”

“To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!

This comes as Putin launched a savage attack on Ukraine overnight using missiles, drones and strategic nuclear capable Tu-95MS to target key energy infrastructure sites in Ukraine using Kh-101 missiles.

This prompted NATO warplanes to be scrambled overnight as Russia launched a “massive” attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and blew up a gas pipeline in Ternopil.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov insisted on Friday that energy infrastructure is a legitimate target, as it is “linked with Ukraine‘s military-industrial complex and weapons production.”

President Volodymyr Zelensky has challenged Putin to release Ukrainian prisoners of war and stop launching missiles, if he is serious in wanting to end his war in Ukraine as this will “establish basic trust.”

President Zelensky added that peace must start with “a truce for missiles, bombs, long-range drones – no military operations in the Black Sea.”

He is urging Western leaders to “make sure that Russia, as the sole source of this war, accepts the need to end it.”

He wrote on X, “Ukrainians truly want peace but not at the cost of giving up Ukraine. The real question for any negotiations is whether Russia is capable of giving up the war.”

He also wrote, “I am scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia to meet with the crown prince. After that, my team will stay in Saudi Arabia to work with American partners. Ukraine is most interested in peace.

“As we told President Trump, Ukraine is working and will work exclusively constructively for a quick and reliable peace.”
