The US is on the verge of securing a peace deal with Vladimir Putin without any blessing from the Ukrainian President or European counterparts.
Donald Trump is being accused of taking sides with Vladimir Putin once more and is trying to push President Volodymyr Zelensky into capitulation.
It has been reported that the US President approved the framework for Moscow’s peace deal earlier this week, whereby Trump and Putin will try and force Kyiv to cede territory that the Russian dictator wants to prove that his war in Ukraine was a success.
The proposed 28-point plan includes provision for Moscow to gain control of eastern Donbas and The Telegraph reported Russia will pay a “rental fee.”

It has been reported that the peace plan was developed by the US and Russian presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Kirill Dmitriev.
Ukrainian troop would have to clear the remaining non-occupied areas of the Donbas, it would then be turned into a “demilitarized” zone, Axios reported.
Moscow may have to give concession in the partially occupied Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the deal also includes that the Ukrainian armed force would have to stop receiving Western weapons, and troops and Kyiv would have to scale back their troops, the Financial Times reported.
Oleksandr Merezhko, head of the Ukrainian parliament’s foreign affairs committee, told the Kyiv Independent that Washington’s and Moscow’s proposal is “absolutely senseless.”
Merezhko said, “It’s hard to imagine Putin agreeing to this — why would he, if he has already written these territories into his constitution?”
Adding that the proposal does not look like a serious one and it is more like “a provocation from Putin’s side.”
He continued, “Perhaps he is using Dmitriev and Witkoff to stir up tensions inside Ukraine, to confuse our allies and Ukraine itself, and to buy time in order to avoid (new) Trump sanctions.
“That may be what’s behind all of this.”
Kaja Kallas the EU foreign policy chief was asked if she believes that President Trump can end this war?
Kallas said, “No, in order to end this war, you need the Ukrainians and Europeans also to agree to those plans.
“Of course, Putin could end this war immediately if he just stopped bombing civilians and killing people.
“But we have not seen any concessions on the Russian side. We welcome all the meaningful efforts to end this war. But like we have said before, it has to be just and lasting. That also means that the Ukrainians, but also Europeans, agree to this.
