The US President has warned that Vladimir Putin could invade other parts of Europe, he said at the NATO summit in The Hague.
Donald Trump was asked he believes Putin is an enemy to Europe, he said, “it’s possible” and believes he is “misguided.”
Trump said, “I consider him a person who I think is misguided,” and said that Putin “would like to get out of this thing,” adding, “it’s a mess for him.”
Trump said, “He called the other day, and he said, ‘Can I help you with Iran?’ I said, ‘No, you can help me with Russia.”
Trump said that he will look into getting more Patriot missiles for Kyiv as he called on the Russian leader to end his war in Ukraine.
Speaking at the NATO summit on Wednesday President Trump said he is not ruling out providing Ukraine with more military aide.
Trump was asked if the US will provide more aide to Ukraine on top the $8 billion already pledged NATO, he said “we’ll see what happens.”
He said that the US will be sending more air defences to Ukraine, “They do want to have the antimissile missiles, OK, as they call them, the Patriots.
“And we’re going to see if we can make some available. We need them, too. We’re supplying them to Israel, and they’re very effective, 100% effective. Hard to believe how effective. They do want that more than any other thing.”
Speaking to a Ukrainian reporter over a question about Patriots, Trump said, “That’s a very good question.
“And I wish you a lot of luck. I mean, I can see it’s very upsetting to you. So say hello to your husband.”
