U.S. oil futures settled with a gain on Monday, tacking on nearly 3% for the session. Much of the support for oil started Friday with the U.S. jobs data, which came in “bullish relative to market expectations,” said Robbie Fraser, manager, global research & analytics at Schneider Electric. These recent moves for oil are “yet another indication that recession fears…remain the primary driver for crude prices in this market.” June West Texas Intermediate crude CLM23 rose $1.82, or nearly 2.6%, to settle at $73.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
