U.S. stocks opened modestly lower on Thursday after an upward revision to first-quarter annualized GDP growth pushed the main indexes to reverse some of their premarket losses. The S&P 500
SPX,
fell 3 points, or 0.1%, to 4,373. The Nasdaq Composite
COMP,
fell 3 points, or less than 0.1%, to 13,590, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average
DJIA,
fell 15 points, or 0.1%, to 33,834. The latest revised GDP report showed the U.S. economy expanded at an annualized pace of 2% during the first quarter, higher than the previous reading of 1.3%.
